Si des éléments électroniques avaient déjà été injectés dans le précédent effort et pouvaient paraître anecdotiques en comparaison de la forte présence des autres instruments, on notera ici qu'ils permettent à Code Orange de prendre une nouvelle direction musicale avec davantage d'ambiances et surtout moins d'agressivité dans le travail de composition. Mais qu'on ne s'y trompe pas : le groupe a déjà proposé des titres de cet acabit, notamment "Bleeding In The Blur" où Reba s'imposait au chant. Cela n'empêchait pas le reste de l'album d'être lourd et dérangeant, à l'image du titre éponyme ou de "Kill The Creator".
Underneath sera-t-il donc à l'image du morceau qui lui donne son nom ? Ou est-ce seulement un leurre ? Réponse dans les semaines à venir car il y a fort à parier que le label Roadrunner propose d'ici là d'autres clips pour assurer la promotion du disque. On soulignera la prépondérance de la couleur bleue dans ce clip qui détonne fortement avec le rouge qui marquait avec force l'album Forever.
