Les américains de Dance Gavin Dance sont décidément productifs. Le groupe emmené par ses deux chanteurs Jon Mess et Tilian Pearson sortira bientôt son huitième album, baptisé Artificial Selection, le 8 juin 2018 via Rise Records, soit moins de deux ans après Mothership (en écoute intégrale sur Youtube).

"Midnight Crusade" est donc le premier extrait de ce nouvel effort et les membres du groupe se mettent en scène dans des bureaux où Tilian, dans le rôle de ce qui semble être un chef d'équipe, présente son nouveau produit : un employé d'un nouveau genre aux capacités extraordinaires...

On n'en parle peu ou pas assez mais la scène Punk Hardcore lyonnaise existe bel et bien et compte une petite tripotée de groupes dont Yoda Rising fait partie.

Composé de membres ayant déjà joué dans différentes formations auparavant, Yoda Rising a présenté son premier EP en 2016 (en écoute intégrale sur BandCamp) et se prépare à balancer son premier album prévu pour l'automne 2018 dont ce "Lies & Greed" est d'ailleurs extrait. Voilà qui s'annonce sympathique, dans la pure traduction du Hardcore oldschool, sans fioriture, avec des textes politiquement engagés et une touche de modernité pour quand même être "dans l'air du temps". Affaire à suivre, donc.

[Vidéo] Eminem : "Framed" (Paroles / Lyrics)

Eminem a sorti Revival, son neuvième et dernier album en date, le 15 décembre 2017 via Aftermath, Interscope et son label Shady, soit plus de quatre ans après The Marshall Mathers LP 2.

Pour "Framed", le désormais légendaire rappeur blanc de Detroit se met dans la peau d'un tueur schizophrène à la démence parfaitement mise en images. Un poil gore et prenant la forme d'un polar psychologique sombre, ce morceau et cette vidéo rappellent (s'il le fallait), qu'Eminem est, malgré son âge et sa carrière, encore très fort. Et qu'il n'en a pas fini avec Slim Shady, son alter-ego maléfique.

[Vidéo] Ricine : "Obey The Scarecrow" (Paroles / Lyrics)

Suite au visionnage de nombreuses séries - notamment policières -, on a tous une vague idée de ce qu'est la ricine : une protéine ultra-toxique souvent utilisée comme poison (difficile d'oublier l'importance de la ricine dans Breaking Bad). Mais Ricine, c'est aussi le nom d'un groupe français originaire de Vitrolles, dans le Sud.

Lancé depuis 2015, le combo évolue au croisement des genres, mélangeant Hard Rock, Trash Métal ou encore Grunge. On retrouve évidemment cette touche très 80's et 90's, notamment dans la production qui ravira les fans du genre. Le groupe a sorti son premier EP No Comment le 13 avril 2018.

Entre le Djent et le Jazz, il n'y a parfois qu'un pas. La preuve une fois de plus avec les français de The Dali Thundering Concept pour cet "Utopia" en collaboration avec Philippe Charny de chez Kadinja, le tout avec un sympathique bridge faisant intervenir un saxophone.

"Utopia" est extrait de l'album concept Savages paru le 13 avril 2018 chez Apathia Records (en écoute intégrale sur BandCamp) et son clip est (une fois de plus) réalisé par Igor Omodei, tout comme celui pour "The Myth Of Happiness". Rappelons que le très violent "Ink" profite lui aussi d'une vidéo.

Et si il y avait un chaînon manquant entre le Rap-Métal de la Team Nowhere (Enhancer, Pleymo, Watcha, etc.) qui a envahi la France des années 2000s et le Punk-Rap des joyeux compères formant les Svinkels ? Aussi improbable que cela puisse paraître, c'est peut-être dans ce petit créneau que pourrait s'inscrire The Wiggar Overdose.

Le groupe originaire de la région parisienne a servi son premier album baptisé New York Sous Bois Rapcore Club le 8 mars 2018, cocktail explosif de Rapcore servi par une batterie et des grosses guitares où des textes en français côtoient aussi des textes en anglais, le tout débordant d'une énergie communicative saupoudrée d'un esprit décalé des plus sympathiques. L'album est à découvrir en écoute intégrale sur BandCamp.

[Vidéo] No Money Kids : "Man Down"

No Money Kids n'en est pas à son premier tour de piste : avec un EP  et un premier album parus respectivement en 2014 et en 2015 (en écoute sur BandCamp), le duo formé par Félix Matschulat (guitare et chant) et JM Pelatan (basse, machines et samples) a su trouver son public et a pondu son second effort Hear The Silence en 2017.

Pour le titre qui ouvre cet album, on retrouve le duo prenant en auto-stop une femme cherchant à faire son deuil d'un parent autrefois habité par la fièvre du voyage. Tourné en noir et blanc et réalisé par Sherkan Films, le clip nous emmène "au bout du monde", en bord de mer. Le reste de l'album Hear The Silence est à découvrir sur BandCamp et d'autres vidéos sont à visionner, notamment via le site officiel de No Money Kids.

[Vidéo] DeLaurentis : "A Big Part Of A Big Sun" (Paroles / Lyrics)

Depuis son passage dans l'émission The Voice, DeLaurentis a vu son succès grandir de manière significative. L'artiste pluri-disciplinaire a sorti un nouvel EP le 13 avril 2018 intitulé Big Part Of A Big Sun est c'est logiquement pour le morceau du même nom qu'il a été décidé de réaliser un clip.

Réalisée par AB/CD/CD et produit par La Pac, cette vidéo aux images de qualité est tout de même d'une certaine violence en comparaison de la voix douce de DeLaurentis. Big Part Of A Big Sun est le troisième EP de DeLaurentis, Brand New Soul, le précédent, étant sorti en novembre 2016.

[Vidéo] Casablanca Drivers : "Kids + Extra Cheese"

Après avoir assuré une promo d'enfer pour un concert à venir dans le clip de "Our Town", l'heure de l'épreuve du feu est arrivée pour les gaillards de Casablanca Drivers dans cette vidéo pour les deux morceaux "Kids" et "Extra Cheese" extraits de l'EP Menu Best Of paru le 9 février 2018.

C'est tout simplement dans un garage et devant un public sceptique et intrigué que le groupe se produit, les quelques curieux s'étant déplacés finissant rapidement par se détendre et se trémousser sur la musique, comme en transe. La suite est à découvrir dans cette vidéo où on retrouve les fameux costumes blancs et la Lancia Fulvia du clip précédent.

[Vidéo] Heart Of A Coward : "Collapse" (Paroles / Lyrics)

Cela faisait quelques temps que le groupe britannique Heart Of A Coward se faisait plutôt silencieux. Et pour cause : le groupe a du faire face au départ de son chanteur Jamie Graham en 2017, ce dernier étant réputé pour ses capacités vocales (comme on peut notamment le constater sur "Distance" par-exemple, dont le clip date de 2014).

Bref, Heart Of A Coward présente ici son nouveau frontman en la personne de Kaan Tasan (qu'on peut aussi entendre au chant chez No Consequence, groupe actif depuis 2005). Rappelons que ce n'est pas la première fois qu'Heart Of Coward subit un changement important de line-up, le groupe ayant d'ailleurs vu passer dans ses rangs Ben Marvin au chant et James Timfy à la guitare, les deux compères ayant quitté la formation en 2011 pour former Hacktivist.

C'est évident que devenir parent, ça vous change un homme ! C'est justement ce qui est arrivé récemment à Snak The Ripper, le rappeur canadien et sa compagne Jaclyn Gee (elle aussi chanteuse) ayant partagé la naissance de leur fils sur les réseaux sociaux.

L'habit ne fait pas le moine, comme on dit, pourtant beaucoup de rappeurs avouent avoir eu une vie plutôt difficile. Malgré tout, Snak The Ripper semble bien vouloir rappeler qu'il est un "homme bien". Maintenant qu'il est devenu père, il veut soigner son image de gros dur "pour son fils" et aussi vouloir assurer "une meilleure vie à sa famille". Une forme de rédemption qui quoiqu'un peu simpliste reste touchante.

Si "On My Teeth" s'avérait être plutôt une bonne surprise marquant le retour d'Underoath, on est bien loin du compte avec ce "Rapture"...

Le groupe américain de Métalcore chrétien qui s'était séparé en 2013 a vu son chanteur Spencer Chamberlain monter le projet Sleepwave la même année. Et il faut croire que ce temps passé à faire de la musique sous la bannière Sleepwave va forcer à la comparaison entre les deux projets tant ce nouvel extrait de l'album Erase Me prévu pour le 6 avril 2018 ressemble à ce qu'on a pu entendre sur l'album Broken Compass paru en 2014 ! Même si il ne faut pas vendre la peau de l'ours avant de l'avoir tué, espérons seulement qu'Underoath a prévu quelques titres prenant leurs distances avec Sleepwave sur ce nouvel effort...

[Vidéo] Run The Jewels x Rick And Morty : "Oh Mama"

On ne le dira peut-être jamais assez mais il n'y a clairement rien de mieux qu'un clip animé pour mettre des images sur de la musique !

Alors que la série Rick and Morty est devenue en seulement trois saisons un véritable phénomène planétaire et la nouvelle poule aux œufs d'or de la chaîne Cartoon Network sur son créneau Adult Swim (la saison 4 n'a cependant pas encore été mise en production malgré une annonce dès septembre 2017), Run The Jewels a fait appel à l'équipe d'animateurs de la série pour réaliser ce clip pour "Oh Mama" extrait du troisième album du duo sobrement baptisé Run The Jewels 3 et paru le 24 décembre 2016. Un clip haut en couleurs, complètement barré et blindé de références, comme aime si bien le faire la série Rick and Morty. Résultat : des millions de vues en quelques jours et un clip relayé par toute la presse déjà conquise par la série.

Critiquer la société de consommation n'est pas une chose nouvelle et beaucoup de groupes ou artistes se sont déjà adonnés à cet exercice. Malgré tout, c'est ce à quoi veut s'attaquer The Dali Thundering Concept avec cette vidéo pour "The Myth Of Happiness" réalisée par Igor Omodei.

Le morceau est extrait du nouvel album du groupe de Deathcore/Djent parisien qui paraîtra chez Apathia Records et qui répondra au nom très évocateur de Savages. Cette galette est prévue pour le 13 avril 2018. Et comment ne pas repenser à des films comme 99 Francs ou Fight Club à la vue des images shootées par Igor ou à la lecture des textes pondus par le groupe ? Un clip qui n'est pas non plus sans rappeler la récente vidéo de The Amsterdam Red Light District pour "Need".

[Vidéo] Doja Cat : "Go To Town"

Cela fait quand même quatre ans que Doja Cat a sorti son EP Purrr! qui fleurait les vapeurs de weed, sur fond de nappes Pop aux accents Dub et de bass music. La demoiselle sortira son premier album le 30 mars 2018 chez RCA Records et il semblerait qu'elle aime toujours autant le rose, preuve en est avec ce clip pour "Go To Town".

Musicalement, on est assez loin de ses premiers titres beaucoup plus posés et psychédéliques, comme "Trauma" publié en 2015. Toutefois, d'autres extraits de ce premier album baptisé Amala ont été publiés et restent fidèles à l'univers musical de la chanteuse qu'on a pu découvrir avec "So High" en 2014 (écouter "Candy" dont une première version a pu être écoutée dès 2016 ou "Roll With Us").
