[Vidéo] DVSR : "Ready For War" (Paroles / Lyrics)

Les australiens de DVSR avaient effectué un retour tonitruant l'an passé, en novembre 2017, en sortant un EP baptisé Therapy, deux ans après un premier album de Djent-Rap bien fat ! Therapy présentait pas moins de sept titres dont un morceau de Rap à l'instrumentale purement électronique, "Ready For War".

En cette année 2018, le groupe qui ne veut plus se faire appeler "Devastator" mais "Designed Via Strength & Respect" revient avec une version retravaillée de ce même morceau, servi cette fois pas une instru où la basse, la batterie et la guitare donnent une toute autre dimension à l'ensemble. En gros, ça percute et, même si la part donnée aux instruments peut sembler anecdotique, on a l'impression d'écouter un nouveau morceau. L'EP Therapy est en écoute intégrale sur Youtube. (Notez que dans le même genre, Hacktivist avait aussi proposé une autre version de l'un de ses titres, "2 Rotten", elle aussi servie par un clip).

[Vidéo] While She Sleeps : "Anti-Social" (Paroles / Lyrics)

While She Sleeps a encore frappé : le groupe britannique à qui l'on doit une discographie quasi-parfaite vient d'annoncer la sortie de son prochain album en dévoilant un premier extrait servi par une vidéo coup-de-poing.

"Less is more", disent certains. Voilà un clip tourné dans un décor épuré qui n'est pas sans rappeler la vidéo pour "Silence Speaks". Pourtant, celui-ci présente plusieurs scénettes au discours lourd de sens et à travers lesquelles les membres du groupe se mettent en scène. La bande de potes qui avait présenté You Are We en 2017 annonce son retour en 2019 avec So What?, un nouvel effort qui devrait une fois de plus montrer toutes les capacités qu'a While She Sleeps pour pondre des riffs et morceaux à la fois frais, mélodiques et puissants. En tout cas, cet "Anti-Social" s'annonce d'ores et déjà comme un véritable hymne pour tous ceux qui vouent un véritable mépris pour ceux qui nous dirigent et nous gouvernent.  So What? est prévu pour le premier mars 2019.

[Vidéo] Bring Me The Horizon : "Wonderful Life" feat. Dani Filth

Chacun sait qu'une promo d'album bien rodée, c'est une promo d'album qui commence tôt. Et à ce petit jeu, les britanniques de Bring Me The Horizon (aujourd'hui considérés comme des "Rockstars", bien loin de leur statut de jeunes rebelles-braillards-deathcoreux à leurs débuts) n'y vont pas avec le dos de la cuillère. Ces derniers ont en effet annoncé dès le mois d'août 2018 la sortie de leur prochain album Amo prévu pour le 11 janvier 2019 avec la présentation d'un premier extrait, "Mantra", puis la sortie du clip de ce morceau quelques temps plus tard.

Mais cette promo avait débuté bien plus tôt avec toute une affaire de site internet étrange, de message vocal sur une boîte téléphonique et autres indices ici et là. En guise de second extrait, le groupe a dévoilé une vidéo pour "Wonderful Life", un titre en collaboration avec Dani Filth, le chanteur et membre fondateur de Craddle Of Filth. Dans cette vidéo davantage considérée comme une lyrics video qu'un véritable clip, on découvre Dani Filth en tenue de scène faisant ses courses. Un côté décalé qui n'est pas vraiment surprenant quand on connaît le flegme légendaire et l'amour pour l'auto-dérision qu'ont les anglais en règle générale.

[Vidéo] Novelists : "Eyes Wide Shut" (Paroles / Lyrics)

Les français de Novelists sont de retour avec un tout nouveau morceau : "Eyes Wide Shut" vient confirmer que le groupe a amorcé un léger retour vers ses bases musicales en présentant un titre au solide riff principal, un solo délectable et une hargne plus prononcée, sans oublier de magnifiques passages en chant clair. Le troisième album se profile d'ores et déjà à l'horizon !

Le groupe qui avait proposé (l'excellent) Noir en 2017 s'était vu reprocher un peu trop de "douceur" en comparaison de ses premières productions qu'on avait pu retrouver sur le premier album Souvenirs en 2015. Depuis, les gars qui avaient pourtant précisé vouloir explorer un univers davantage atmosphérique et poétique ont répondu favorablement à leurs fans en annonçant des nouvelles productions tournées vers leurs racines Métalcore. Ce nouveau morceau vient donc rassurer tous ceux qui regrettaient l'époque de "Twenty Years" : Novelists n'en a pas fini avec eux. Affaire à suivre. (Notons que le groupe a officiellement annoncé n'être plus qu'un quatuor depuis le départ de l'un de ses guitaristes juste avant la sortie du second album Noir)

[Vidéo] Underoath : "Ihateit" (Paroles / Lyrics)

Vraiment, Underoath n'aura pas fait l'unanimité ou même quelque chose de génial avec Erase Me pour marquer son retour après sa séparation en 2013. Le groupe américain qui a sorti son dernier album en avril 2018 a pu enchaîner les tournées et faire son come-back sur scène mais ce disque n'aura pas manqué de diviser ceux qui s'y étaient intéressé.

Après plusieurs vidéos pour mettre des images sur certains titres de cet Erase Me, notamment pour "On My Teeth" et "Rapture", Underoath continue de faire vivre son dernier effort avec un nouveau clip pour "Ihateit", l'un des morceaux les plus "calmes" du recueil. Un titre qualifié de "générique" ou même "ennuyeux" pour certains qui, paradoxalement, est aussi considéré comme l'un des plus réussis de l'album pour d'autres. Quoiqu'il en soit, "Ihateit" martèle une nouvelle fois la volonté qu'a Underoath de s'éloigner de ses racines chrétiennes. L'album Erase Me est en écoute intégrale sur Youtube.

[Vidéo] Landmvrks : "The Worst Of You And Me" (Paroles / Lyrics)

Et de quatre ! Quatre extraits servis par des clips et un cinquième sous la forme d'une lyrics video ("Reckoning" en collaboration avec Aaron Matts) : voilà une promo qui pèse dans la balance ! Après sa signature chez Arising Empire, Landmvrks compte bien gagner en rayonnement et renommée avec un second album baptisé Fantasy dont la date de sortie avait été repoussée au 2 novembre 2018.

Fantasy s'était dévoilé à nos oreilles dès le mois de septembre 2017 avec la présentation du titre éponyme. On a ensuite eu droit à des clips pour "Scars" et "Blistering" pour, enfin, obtenir ce dernier single qui semble corroborer l'hypothèse selon laquelle Fantasy concentrera son sujet autour de la déception amoureuse. Une fois de plus, c'est à Disclosure Productions qu'on doit cette sympathique vidéo pour "The Worst Of You And Me".

[Vidéo] 22 : "Call Me Trimtab" (Paroles / Lyrics)

Second épisode de la quadrilogie de clips proposée par le groupe norvégien 22 : "Call Me Trimtab" fait suite à "Sum Of Parts" paru mi-septembre. Le second volet de l'album You Are Creating, intitulé Limb 2, vient de paraître, le 23 novembre 2018 précisément, et il est désormais possible d'écouter l'intégralité de cet album concept en deux parties sur BandCamp.

Concernant le clip, celui-ci est réalisé par Troll Toftenes (tout comme "Sum Of Parts") et on y découvre un nouveau personnage prénommé Akira ramassant un à un les éléments d'une machine en piteux état, relique du passé, qui fait écho au premier clip. Ici, l'humain et la machine semblent lier une relation amicale dont les tenants et aboutissants restent encore à découvrir. Affaire à suivre avec les deux autres clips qui devraient sortir dans les mois à venir.

[Vidéo] Knocked Loose : "The Rain" (Paroles / Lyrics)

Dans la catégorie "groupes de jeunes bien énervés", on trouve des groupes comme Code Orange et Knocked Loose. Si la première formation est davantage tournée vers un Hardcore crasseux aux accents Sludge, la seconde est davantage orientée Métalcore et Beatdown. Néanmoins, on peut entendre chez les deux une signature sonore facilement identifiable... plutôt sale et violente.

Knocked Loose a sorti son premier recueil au format long en 2016. Ce dernier, baptisé Laugh Tracks, a déjà profité d'une vidéo pour deux morceaux : "Billy No Mates" et "Counting Worms". Pour "The Rain", le groupe a tout simplement mouillé le maillot, comme on dit (et pas qu'un peu). Laugh Tracks est en écoute intégrale sur Youtube et sur BandCamp.

[Vidéo] Promethee : "Demons"

Quand la Suisse fait quelque chose, elle ne le fait pas à moitié. Et ce ne sont pas les gars de Promethee qui feront dire le contraire. Le groupe originaire de Genève a sorti son troisième album intitulé Convalescence le 12 octobre 2018 et derrière un magnifique artwork se cachent de véritables pilules comme ce "Demons".
Pour le clip, c'est Igor Omodei qui s'y est collé avec toujours cette volonté de donner du sens aux images, même celles pouvant paraître les plus anodines. En résulte une vidéo sombre alternant des passages où les musiciens sont mis en avant, jouant leur musique, et d'autres plans plus "artistiques" qui interrogent le spectateur sur son rapport à l'image, justement. Un obscur portrait de ce que nous serions devenus aujourd'hui ? Convalescence est en écoute intégrale sur BandCamp.

[Vidéo] Kadinja : "Empire" (Paroles / Lyrics)

Que le Métal technique, progressif ou même de type Djent n'ait pas la cote en France est un fait. Mais cela ne veut pas dire qu'il n'y a pas de talent dans le genre. Si on a davantage entendu parler de groupes comme Gravity, The Dali Thundering Concept ou même de Novelists (quoique le genre musical soit un peu différent), il ne faudrait pas oublier que les parisiens de Kadinja ont proposé un impressionnant premier album en février 2017. Baptisé Ascendancy, celui-ci est en écoute intégrale sur BandCamp et comprend une version instrumentale de chacun de ses morceaux.

Le groupe reviendra en 2019 avec un nouveau recueil au format long intitulé Super 90 qui devrait paraître le 18 janvier 2019. Ce disque se dévoile avec un premier extrait que voilà. Ce clip pour "Empire", dont la mise en scène peut rappeler le clip de Korn pour "Freak On A Leash", met principalement en avant les membres du groupe qui vient de signer chez Arising Empire, ce qui risque de lui donner davantage de visibilité.

[Vidéo] Eminem : "Venom"

C'est cinq jours avant la sortie du film du même nom en France que le désormais légendaire Eminem a publié cette vidéo pour le titre "Venom" extrait de son album Kamikaze paru le 31 août 2018.

On a déjà parlé de Kamikaze et de son contenu pour la sortie du clip de "Lucky You" en septembre dernier. Dans cette nouvelle vidéo, Eminem fait une fois de plus allusion à son album Revival paru en 2017 qu'on peut apercevoir dès les premières images. Cette fois, le rappeur se compare au "diable", à un "super-vilain" comme le personnage des comics Marvel, où l'auditeur serait l'hôte et sa musique le "costume". En résulte un clip où des personnages se passent le venom en se croisant et se touchant, comme un virus où le patient zéro est ici celui qui ramasse le disque de Revival au début du clip. Et comme le morceau figure sur la bande originale du film (sorti le 5 octobre aux USA et le 10 octobre en France), Eminem s'est assuré par la même occasion une très bonne visibilité pour ce clip !

[Vidéo] Coheed And Cambria : "Old Flames" (Paroles / Lyrics)

Pour marquer son retour et poursuivre le concept entrepris avec les Amory Wars, Coheed And Cambria n'y est pas allé avec le dos de la cuillère en présentant le 5 octobre 2018 un nouvel album baptisé Vaxis - Acte 1: The Unheavenly Creatures, un disque de quinze morceaux s'étalant sur presque quatre-vingts minutes, fait suffisamment rare dans le Rock ou le Métal aujourd'hui pour être souligné.

Comme à son habitude, la groupe emmené par Claudio Sanchez a bien pris soin de présenter des clips à l'ambiance et aux costumes recherchés pour alimenter l'univers visuel du concept de "science-fiction musicale" des albums qui retracent l'histoire des Amory Wars. Pour "Old Flames", un morceau à la tonalité Pop-Rock/Rock alternatif (assez éloigné musicalement de morceaux comme "Black Sunday"), c'est un cambriolage de banque qui ne tourne pas vraiment comme prévu qui est mis en scène. Le groupe avait auparavant proposé des vidéos pour les titres "Unheavenly Creatures" et "The Gutter". L'album Vaxis - Acte 1: The Unheavenly Creatures en écoute intégrale sur Youtube.
