Ce nouveau morceau est présenté presque dix mois après "Vultures" qui était accompagné d'une vidéo peu inspirée. Northlane a donc définitivement clôturé son chapitre Mesmer et c'est sous un nouveau jour que le groupe se présente au public : Marcus a coupé ses cheveux, Brendon Padjasek (du groupe Structures) a remplacé Alex Milovic à la basse en plus de fournir des back-vocals, et le groupe a délaissé David Bendeth qui avait produit Mesmer pour désormais travailler avec Adam "Nolly" Getgood. Une nouvelle ère débute donc pour la formation originaire de Sydney qui présente avec "Bloodline" une orientation musicale davantage Néo-Métal que Métalcore, et il y a fort à parier que d'autres morceaux et vidéos sont à venir avant la sortie d'Alien. Affaire à suivre, donc.
